- Graduation is mandatory for Seniors and will be held at 9:00am on Friday, May 30, 2025 in the Union Theater
- Senior men are expected to wear coats and ties and Senior women should dress appropriately for the occasion.
- Seniors are free to leave after 9:00am Graduation Exercises which should be concluded by 9:45am on Friday morning.
Busses will begin transporting bankers to the BTR airport on Friday morning until approximately 11:30am. Housing at Halls will close at Noon.

JUNIORS & FRESHMEN

Departure
- Juniors & Freshmen may depart after their final exams which will conclude by 6:30pm on Thursday, May 29, or Friday morning if they choose.
Busses will begin transporting bankers to the BTR airport on Friday morning from 7:30am to approximately 11:30am. Housing at Halls will close at Noon.
BEFORE YOU ARRIVE AT LSU
Lodging
- Room assignments are made prior to registration. You will receive a memo indicating your housing and elective assignments prior to your arrival on campus. Seniors will be housed at Evangeline, Highland and Annie Boyd Halls, while Juniors and Freshmen will be housed in the Azalea and Camellia Halls. Housing will be available for occupancy for Seniors beginning at 9:00am Sunday, May 18, for Juniors and Freshman beginning at 9:00am Monday, May 19th through Noon on Friday, May 30.
- Senior Halls – Evangeline, Highland and Annie Boyd Halls— Private rooms with a shared bath with one other person are provided for Senior students.
- Freshman will be housed in Azalea while Juniors will be housed in Camellia Hall— Private rooms with a shared bath with one other person.
- All halls feature modern gathering spaces and spacious suites with Wi-Fi & Wired Internet, Cable TV connection, In-Room Sink, Modern Community Kitchen, Laundry Facilities, Computer Lab with Free Printing, Central A/C with Individual Room Controls, Vending and Ice Machines, Lounges on Each Floor, Study Spaces, Individual Study Nooks and Ceiling Fans in Rooms. If you bring a TV, you must also bring the cable for connection. You may want to bring a small refrigerator or ice chest for your dorm room.
- Laundry rooms are open for use for no cost during your stay to wash towels and linens. Find your laundry room on the ground floor of your building, select your cycle, and click “start.” No coins or cards needed! Please use only pod detergent.
- The School furnishes a pillow, pillowcase, set of sheets, a lightweight blanket, and a supply of towels and washcloths. Many students bring a twin mattress topper for extra comfort along with soap, shampoo, ear plugs or eye mask.
- The School does NOT furnish an alarm clock, telephone, television, refrigerator, iron, or hair dryer.
- GSB is not responsible for any lost items, computers, etc. left in your dorm.
Clothing
- Casual dress (jeans, slacks, t-shirts, walking shorts, tennis shoes, sandals) is suitable attire for all class lectures and official assemblies, except for graduation. The median temperature in Baton Rouge in May is 80 degrees, and the average rainfall is about 4 inches. It is advisable to bring lightweight clothing and a raincoat or umbrella.

- Mail is delivered every morning except Sunday to the Evangeline, Azalea and Camellia desks. Outgoing mail is also collected.
- UPS is located on the first floor of the LSU Union in Room 101 and is available Monday-Friday from 7:30 am-5:00 pm. Services include black and white copies, color copies, binding, faxing and scanning. Their telephone number is 225-578-6756.
Backpacks
- Each Freshman will receive a GSBLSU backpack along with a temporary luggage tag to be used during their three years at the school. Junior and Senior students should bring your backpack from the previous year.
ARRIVAL ON CAMPUS – Sunday, MAY 18 for Seniors ONLY, Freshman and Juniors will arrive on Monday, MAY 19
Airport/Bus Transportation
- Bus transportation is provided from the BR airport to the LSU campus Sunday, May 18 for Seniors and Monday, May 19 for Freshman and Juniors, from 9:00am to 5:00pm. Special buses chartered by GSB will leave the airport every 30 minutes. Bus service will also be provided to transport students to the BR airport on Friday, May 30 from 7:30am until 11:30am. Dormitories will close at Noon.
CANVAS App
- You should download the CANVAS App which contains all of your Session information including Course materials, newly renovated 459 Cafeteria dining menus and layout, interactive map of LSU campus, daily Red Stick Timesnewsletter, and news alerts. Seniors and Juniors will continue to use their same login for Canvas. Freshman will receive their LOGIN information in March/April.
Parking
- Spaces are available around the Evangeline, Highland and Annie Boyd, Azalea and Camellia Halls and across from the BEC (Business Education Complex) and PFT (Patrick F. Taylor building). Permits for parking only in Halls/BEC & PFT lots are available at registration and should be placed on the rear view mirror. Violators will be ticketed by Campus Security, and violations will normally result in a $50 fine payable at the Office of the Bursar. Cars parked in unauthorized areas will be towed away at the owner’s expense. Parking is limited on campus, but you are allowed to park across the street from your classes in the BEC and PFT buildings this year. If you have a bicycle on campus, you should bring a bicycle lock.
Registration
- Registration begins at 9:00am on Sunday, May 18 for Seniors only and Monday, May 19 for Freshmen and Juniors. Upon arrival on the LSU campus, students will check in at their designated housing assignment. You will receive your schedule and nametag. Freshmen will also pick up a backpack and class t-shirt. HANG ONTO YOUR KEYS. The charge for replacing a lost key is $20 for card key and $145 for brass key (Azalea and Camellia).

- 6:15pm Freshman & Junior Introductory Session @ Union Theater
- 7:00pm Case Groups—(BEC) Business Education Complex or (PFT) Patrick Taylor hall, your classroom is on your individual schedule which you will receive at check-in on Monday.
- You should allow at least 15 minutes of walking to get to class the first Monday (for Seniors) and Tuesday (for Freshman and Juniors). There will be parking across the street from the BEC and PFT buildings.
DURING THE SESSION
Email/Internet Access
- Wireless access to the Internet can be received in your dorm area. An Internet connection is also available in your bedroom. Your computer must have an Ethernet adapter, and you need a Category 6 (CAT6) cable to connect from your computer to the outlet. Make sure your computer is set to obtain an IP address automatically. Instructions to connect your computer to the LSU Network for an Internet connection, including username/password can be found under Computer Users’ Responsibilities in May.
Nametags
- Nametags are issued at registration and should be worn at all times. They are required for admission to classes, meals and athletic facilities. The color scheme used is:

Food Services
- The School will provide food service this year at newly renovated 459 Commons Cafeteria. Meal service begins at 4:45 pm Sunday for Seniors only,and Monday, May 19 for Freshmen and Juniors , and continues through breakfast on Friday, May 30. Additional information concerning food service can be found under 459 Cafeteria.
Crawfish Boil
- The GSB traditional crawfish party will be held after the Week 1 exams at the LSU Mini Barn on campus Friday, May 23 from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm.
Recreational Facilities
- The Student Recreational Sports Complex will be open on May 18—30. The LSU sign-up form and information can be found under LSU Student Recreational Facilities.
Messages
- Messages and package pick-up information will be sent to your Canvas account. The GSB office phone number is 225-766-8595.
- LSU personnel will be available at the main desks in Azalea, Camellia and Evangeline from 7:00 am – 10:00 pm. After hours, the name and phone # of an “on call” LSU staff member will be posted.

- Medical service is also available through local hospitals, clinics and walk-in clinics such as Lake After Hours or MED AID. Contact the GSB desk for assistance.
Miscellaneous Services
- The LSU Union has a snack bar, and several restaurants. You are invited to make use of these facilities that are open during the Session.
- The Barnes and Noble bookstore is located across the street from the Union. Starbucks coffee is available on the first floor.
- Several fast-food chain restaurants are located adjacent to campus—Chimes, Raising Cane’s, Louie’s Cafe, Burger King, Wendy’s, Subway, Chipotle, Jack in the Box, Panera Bread (in PFT).
- ATMs are in the LSU Union.
GRADUATION EXERCISES
- Graduation exercises are mandatory for Seniors and will be held at 9:00am on Friday, May 30, in the LSU Union Theater. Students, friends and relatives are invited to attend the ceremony. The ceremony will also be live streamed.
- Senior men are expected to wear coats and ties and senior women should dress appropriately for the occasion. The graduation ceremony lasts approximately 45 minutes.

CHECK OUT AND DEPARTURE

- ALL STUDENTS must give their name and card key (Azalea and Camellia Hall may also have brass key) to their LSU front desk (where they received their key). If your keys are not returned AT CHECK OUT on Thursday/Friday, you will be billed to replace card key $20 and $145 to replace brass key if applicable (Azalea and Camellia).
- Students should discard any personal bedding, toiletries, etc. that are frequently left at the end of each session, if any items need to be discarded by LSU you will be charged $50.
